Greeting

Greeting

President Tsuneo Katsuki

We will establish firm position as the pioneer of PC technologies in Japan, tackling on important issues about establishment of CSR, securement of safety and quality, and succession of technologies to next generations.

In 2013, business environment surrounding our company is improving. Change of ruling party in the government is expected to bring construction investment to recovery effort from the Great Tohoku Earthquake as well as maintenance of aging infrastructure. Long lasting strong yen is under correction at last as well.

However, fiscal problem of the Japanese government, disorder of European financial market and electric procurement issues are potential downward risk of Japanese economic climate overall. Improvement of private investment is yet to be seen. Although we see many signals of overall economic recovery, we cannot be too optimistic about the business environment.

In such an overall economic condition, P.S. Mitsubishi has been carrying out two core businesses; “civil engineering construction” which is represented by bridge construction and “building construction” which mostly comes from private owners. We will push ourselves further to apply PC technologies which offers high quality, high durability and high earthquake resistance to civil engineering and building construction, by which we try to distinguish ourselves from rest of general contractors as the “top PC general contractor in Japan”.

As for maintenance field, our “Bridge maintenance project” strengthens maintenance technologies such as deck replacement and electric protection to deal with increasing number of aging bridges which will pass their design life time in near future.

Our “Disaster response project team” established soon after the Great Tohoku Earthquake proposes measures such as artificial lands and evacuation towers to areas where risk of future strong earthquakes and tsunamis is high.

P.S. Mitsubishi put our force together on renewal works and proposes PC confined method which is proved to have excellent seismic performance and durability. In building construction, our original PCaPC (Precast Prestressed Concrete) externally framing seismic retrofit is very effective to schools and hospitals because it is applicable to buildings without interrupting regular use. Seismic ability and long life cycle of PC buildings are receiving increasing attentions and potential needs are growing. PC buildings will see in increase its application in Japan as an earthquake country.

Another arrow of our development strategies is overseas division. P.S. Mitsubishi is expanding precast prestressed concrete fabrication business in Indonesia, Vietnam and surrounding countries.

As a role of a construction company, we will devote ourselves in restoration from the disaster, upgrade of aging infrastructure and overall development of infrastructure.

We will strengthen management foundation further and establish firm position as the pioneer of PC technologies in Japan, tackling on important issues about establishment of CSR, securement of safety and quality, and succession of technologies to next generations.

President Toshimichi Fujii
